We’re planning out future polls on the blog and I wonder if any of you have any ideas for poll questions that might be interesting? Please post them in the comments if you do. Thanks.

I would be interested to know how many photos people print (or have printed professionally). I would suggest that many people don’t even get their “keepers” printed anymore.

A few ideas:
- Favorite photo site: flickr, smugmug, etc
- How do you like to go shoot? alone? with a partner? in groups?
- How many photography-related books do you buy in a year?
- How many camera bodies do you have, how many do you use?
- What’s your favorite topic in the podcast? gear? technical? artistic? interviews? critiques?
- How many photography-related podcasts do you subscribe to?
- Have you ever been to a photography workshop?

One more interesting poll question:
What is your backup strategy? praying? external HD? DVDs? off-site? online?

Now that you have a better idea how people listen to your podcasts maybe a poll on where your listeners are from and when and where do they listen to your podcasts.

How about what software do you use most for editing your photos. Lightroom, Aperature, Photoshop, iphoto, etc…

Amen to all of the suggestions up there, really good.
I’d add in whether people record video on their digital still camera: 10 times a month, 5 times a month, 1 a month, never.
Which continent do live in: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa
Which OS: Leopard, Tiger or earlier, Vista, XP or earlier, Linux

As long as the poll is anonymous, I think it would be interesting to ask how many of the listeners that use Photoshop have a legal license..one of these days I read the piracy rate for Photoshop is more than 90%!

I second the Aperature VS. Lightroom poll!
What is your age. It would be interesting to see where the largest age group of photographers lays.

What light (time of day) do you shoot in.
As I work during the day, I only get to shoot things at dusk or at night (and the problems with grain in that).
I would be intrested in what types of light people prefer.

Mac, Linux, or Windows (also what version)

I agree with the above request. Especially the editing/work-flow software used by most. So in short:
What is your preferred editing/work-flow software?
- Aperture
- Lightroom
- Capture One (which no one ever talks about, but I love)
- Photoshop/Bridge
- iPhoto
- Other
Thanks so much, love the podcast you provide.

I would find it interesting to know how many of the TWIP listeners are proffesional, semi proffesional (partial income from photography) and hobby photographers.

How about, “Do you describe yourself as a amateur, semi-professional, or professional photographer?”

Why not put all these ideas into a poll, and poll people to see what poll they’d most like to do next ![]()
