iPhone Most Popular Camera Phone on Flickr - TWIP
Posted by Scott under: News .
While we cover a more serious brand of photography here at This Week in Photography, as an iPhone junky and a photographer, I couldn’t help being amused by this statistic I saw on Flickr.
According to Flickr, more camera phone photos on Flickr come from an iPhone than any other camera phone, including the much heralded Nokia N95.
Flickr points out that the graphs are only accurate to the extent that we can automatically detect the camera used to take the photo or shoot the video (about 2/3rds of the time). That is not usually possible with cameraphones, therefore they are under-represented.
While this really means nothing, I found it amusing and thought you might too.

That’s because other phone users know that cameraphones are shocking quality wise, whereas iPhone lovers believe everything with an Apple logo on it it is forged from solid gold and there can be no better. I kid Apple lovers ![]()

Rikki it’s either that or all the N95 owners are so used to their phones locking up that they don’t even try to use the camera
Oh - and I am NOT kidding!

I have an iPhone, its my only apple product i own. I tend to use it to take snap shots of photos i like. For instance i was at a department store and they have some pictures hanging, very good composition and posing… So i took a picture of it. Upload it to my PC and put it into my folder of Ideas… I also use the phone to show my portfolio to people when on the go.

How did you know I had an N95? It’s been top notch since I flashed its firmware, once, about a year ago - stable as. How many firmwares we on now with the iPhone? Anyway I dont use the 95 for photos, got an S3 for that malarky. Though the N95 does take better photos than the S3 can make phone calls.
