As promised, we’re moving the next photo assignment to Photrade. You can participate just as if we were on Flickr - all you need to do is sign up for a free Photrade account. In order to participate you MUST enter the contest from this link..

http://www.photrade.com/contest/twipphotoassignmentcircles

If you enter from any other link you may not be able to log on and participate.

The contest rules and all other pertinent information are available on the contest page on Photrade. You may vote on other photos, and share information on how people can vote for your image. We hope you like this new method of running the assignment. It’s in its early stages so we may have to iron out some bugs. If so, please be patient and help us spread the word.

Thanks.

I am excited to be able to vote on others photos with this new Photrade service.

However, I was wondering what happened to the announcements for the winners of the “blue” assignment and the “8″ assignment? I don’t recall seeing any posts about them or having them mentioned on the podcast.

Please read the show notes. We’ve decided that the only way people can know about the contest (including winners) is to listen to the podcast or read the podcast show notes. We had people coming just to enter the contest and just trying to win prizes. The spirit of the photo assignment is to get people shooting. The contest aspect is just a motivator. We need people involved in our overall goals here at TWIP and by moving interested parties into the groove of being involved in the show - not just the contest - we achieve that goal. We understand some people will not enjoy that approach and will stop entering the contest. That’s exactly the result we’re looking for. We only want people who are engaged in the overall goals of imrpoving their photography by being a bigger part of the TWIP family to be able to win.

Thanks! I first listened to the podcast after finding it through iTunes then decided to enter the contests. I find listening to the podcast very beneficial for improving my photography skills. I recently wrote about it on my blog specifically how participating in the “assignments” prompt us all to just go out and make more photography. It is a shame that people would try to surpass the wonderful resources you and the other hosts provide via the show. I am definitely looking forward to using this new service. I enjoy the podcast immensely and learn alot. I have listened to the shows but forgot about the show notes. Thanks for the reminder and looking forward to all future shows!

When does voting open for the contest? Is it as soon as the contest is created, or will the contest be closed and then there’s time for voting? I see an issue if someone uploads a photo the first day and another uploads one the last day, there’s several days where the first one could rack up many more votes than the latter. How is that issue being addressed?

Hey I can’t log on. It keeps asking for my info to request an invitation. Or to put in a code. I searched Twip for the code and find nothing. Is there a code that we should use or has photrade cut off their site.
