TWIPPHOTO Blog Upgrade Next Saturday (Reminder) - Heads Up!

Site Info
Here’s a heads up. On July 19, we plan to move the TWIPPHOTO.COM blog to a new host. This will require us to shut down the blog for about 24 hours. So sometime Friday we’ll go offline and sometime Saturday we’ll come back up.
We’re also upgrading to WordPress 2.5 which should fix some bugs we had when people did category searches.
Thanks to our new producer Jeff, we have more IT help.
Please welcome as a new part of the TWIP team:
Jeff Culverhouse
Vice President of Rev.Net Technologies in Roanoke, VA
Internet access and custom web application programming
http:///www.rev.net/ (company site)
http://www.graystorm.com/ (personal site)
Jeff and Aaron have been working hard to make this switch a reality - but there could still be a few bugs. If your comment gets lost for instance during the move, don’t assume it’s a giant conspiracy. It might just be a mistake. We’re trying to preserve as much of the blog as we can during the move and are shooting for 100%.
When we come back up Saturday, test it out and let us know if we missed anything. Our team will get right on it and hope to make things better for all of us during the long haul.
I will post and re-post this message throughout the week to let everyone know our plans.
Thanks for your patience.

Why not just move up to WordPress 2.6, since it was just released? I’m running it on my site and it is fine. I haven’t noticed any bugs.

@Tyler maybe this is why? “leolaporte Having the devil of a time with the Wordpress 2.6 upgrade. There’s an incompatible plug-in that results in a blank blog. Narrowing it down. 06:18 PM July 15, 2008 from twhirl “

Scott,
Plugins are always a problem with blog upgrades. As long as your plugins are compatible with 2.6 (or new versions are available that make it compatible), you won’t have any problems.
There’s nothing wrong with 2.5, but I am suggesting you go ahead and try 2.6 in your sandbox blog and see if it is working. That way you won’t have to go through this again in a few weeks/months when you decide it’s time to upgrade to 2.6.
