Great video Alex… I finally understood how to use levels in the histogram. I was never happy with the contrast slider, and to use the levels makes more sense!
Thanks guys!

Great Video!
I was already familiar with a lot of what you were covering but I have a few questions.

Can you please cover when in the histogram graph on my Canon 40D peaks pass the top of the scale? Isn’t this also clipping?

Can you also cover white balance using a gray card and how that should look in a histogram?
I have done a few projects where I use a gray card for both exposure and white balance. Can you please go over a work-flow both for the shoot and post processing on the computer?

I have sent links for this video to several photo-friends of mine.

Keep up the Great work!
Ernie

Over the white point is probably where the JPEG will clip (but not necessarily the RAW).

Thanks so much, Alex. I’m finally beginning to understand the histogram and it’s manipulation. I appreciate you taking the time to teach this valuable lesson.

Keep these great videos coming Alex and team! They’re a great tool in boiling down photographic jargon into more malleable bites that result in a better real world understanding for the “rest of us.”
