Photo Assignment

Our last photo assignment was HDR - We received more than 200 entries. Thanks!
- This week’s winner of the HDR challenge: Jetty By Huey_J. (editorial note: Whoa! Staggering shot, Huey…)
- The runner up in the HDR challenge: Burlingham Mill By Andrew Stawarz.
- I used a highly technical process for selecting this week’s winner: I flipped a coin. Ok, that’s actually NOT an insult. The submissions are so varied and superb that it’s almost impossible to select one image that is far and above the rest. Awesome job.
This week’s assignment - should you decide to accept it - is to photograph people. That’s it - no other guidelines - (other than keep it clean - remember our TWIP Flickr Group rules - kid-safe photos only please.)
You can post ONE image to the group that shows your best results - tag the image with TWIP PEOPLE and we’ll do the rest.
We’ll pick one or two of the images we really like to talk about and feature on the blog - and if we really like something, we’ll send a free copy of 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers, by Andrew Darlow, to the best image-maker.
So have at it. You have until April 9th at 5:00 PM - PST to post your images. You can still post images with a theme of people after that - but we won’t consider them for our TWIP Photo Assignment Competition.
If you’d like to chip in, please suggest some future themes you’d like us to explore in the comment section below. Have fun.
EDITOR’S NOTE: If you need help joining or posting images at Flickr, visit these two links for in-depth screencasts on how to get it done. Video One and Video Two.

Is that the correct TAG for the “people” contest since it is not an HDR photo that we have to take?

I’m not a people photographer, but this is a great image…. I wonder if anybody will do better than this one, truly magnificent, the look in the girls eye in combination with the “yes we can” little boys stature …..

I rarely photograph people, except in candid snapshots. This is a very interesting assignment, and I’m sure it will stretch me creatively. Great idea, whoever came up with the theme!
